puerto rico sunshine and puerto rican rope swings were all i needed to bring refreshment to my life...

last night we returned from a lusciously relaxing week in a little town called rincon, p.r. it's too tedious to note all the notable events and things of the week...but here are the first few that come to mind

~ ALL police cars and ambulances drive with their lights flashing at all times (seems a bit like crying wolf, does it not?)
~ i have fallen in love with the puerto rican dog - they are all mutts, but perfect because they are a bit leggy, thin, and have those faces with perfect noses and eyes that you just fall in to. bob maybe would have let me bring one home, but adding a third poopaloo to our menagerie of 2 (plust the 2 felines) just seemed a bit of an under-taking
~ we came to realize why so many great race car drivers come from other countries - try crazy hairpin turns and s-curves on roads not wide enough for two cars - amidst the tropical afternoon storms in the jungle-like mountains and you'll realize this as well
~ while snorkeling, do NOT forget to put on the sunscreen repeatedly....but it didn't matter to me at the time - i saw amazing reef fish of every color, size, and shape...puffer fish that were over a foot long, two kinds of eels, a SEA TURTLE, 4+ foot barricudas, and amazing configurations of coral....i close my eyes and long to hold on to those images...

and then we came home. we were so happy to be back last night....the poopaloos loved on us, the kitty cats purred, we had our stable cars again (as opposed to the scary rental that squeaka-squeaked) and the sun broke through the rain a bit. but this morning, the troubles...they came back..i'm not sure what it is about us, but bob and i seem to attract the pain of others...which is fine, i cannot imagine not doing everything in my power to relieve the burden of another, but how strange is it that we seem to be magnets. and i keep saying we. i think it is only i. ah well.

i'm smiling....sun-kissed and blissful...in the never-ending sunshine that lights my days
