the beauty of the rain...is how it falls...how it falls...how it falls...

frances came by today. i think she may be like aunt flo and prolong her visit for a few days.

sushi is ignoring me and just batted the mini-stapler (one of those little, cute ones) off the desk, onto the chair, and then onto the floor. after a bat or two on the floor, he loses interest and is now heading back to the desktop to find something else worthy of going "crash...boom"

it is so nice to have a quiet house to myself this evening. not that i want bob to have to work tonight, but it is much more peaceful than the hustle and bustle of this weekend for a few reasons - bob's at work, mom is gone back to michigan, and ubu is in need of less intense care. i think if she improves much more in 24 hours that she'll be out of the doghouse (yeah, i know, not a good pun).

anyway, i really did not have a good weekend in regard to school. even though it had only been two weeks, i had settled into a routine, and that routine being changed meant that i really couldn't get anything done. i either couldn't concentrate for more than 10 minutes or didn't even have that time to get things done. just strange. and yucky.

i'm writing here on my laptop. her name is sasha.

ok. i have to get work done. and then shower with ubu...again. we've gotten a bonding thing down....go get in the shower with the dog for 15 minutes twice a day. let her wet dog permeate the air...and your hair (it does not matter that she's been doing this twice a day for 3 days already)....sit down. make her sit down in front of you. wrap your arms around her chest so the spray gets her upper back. remain in said position for a looonnnnng time. tell her she's a good girl. often. in a few cases, you may put a little aveda shampoo on her belly and chest and scrub in an attempt to break wet dog smell. it won't work. get lather off. hug her chest some more. after the entire ordeal realize that you've been in the shower too long already and you just want to get out. so you don't even bother to clean yourself. besides. you've got a wet dog to deal with and whose wounds you have to drain. bonding experience encapsulated.
