e-mail to my friend rahul - i figure that it sums up some of my last week.

you haven't heard from me b/c our broadband was out from tuesday until 30 minutes ago....i am SO glad that i now have it back. i was suffering internet withdrawal...the cable i don't care that much about...but internet, it's a must have. what have i been doing...well friday night i went with a good friend of mine to a student production at agnes scott...hard to explain..but consisted of a lot of drunken debauchery (we all had nalgene bottles full of alcohol) and lots of laughter. saturday was the HIGHLIGHT of my week. (note: some sarcasm maybe) so, jelena decides to join the graduate business association at gsu. and is so excited b/c a week after she joins they have a service activity going on during hands on atlanta day. jelena is big into service. so, she, along with about 35 other people, shows up at the atlanta taskforce for the homeless early saturday morning. then she, along with 7 or 8 others, raise their hands to volunteer to be on the somewhat dreaded "cleaning crew"....while everyone else goes off with paints to paint big, pretty walls...or to cart junk down several flights of stairs, jelena and the "dream team" as we came to call ourselves..commenced to go clean, for 3.5 hours, the ONLY public shower and restroom in the city of atlanta open to ANY homeless person (crack users please do apply)....i cannot even begin to describe that experience...though at one point, i commented to a girl that i befriended "we must have the least optimal job of any of the thousands of volunteers for hands on atlanta day." yeah. so. then i go to taco mac and work til 2 a.m. digging through the trash for a women's credit card that i accidentally tossed (no, i didn't ever tell her i tossed it) seemed like small game after the bathroom deal earlier in the day. yesterday we got up and had breakfast at radial cafe (it's YUMMY) and then met up with bob's boys at famous pub for the 1 o'clock game then moved to t'mac decatur for the 4 o'clock game where i proceeded to be entertained by the guys getting pretty drunk. had my first makers drink ever...eh. came home, walked the dogs, cooked jambalaya (bob cooked), went to bed. now that the cable man has come and gone, i need to shower and then get on with my day....
yeah for teva almost being done!!!! and yeah for yummy mom food. are you going to the decatur beer festival on the 16th? if so, look for me...we'll be volunteering!!! woo-hoo!!
ok. enough long e-mail.
