i get home..7:30 the house is dirty....but it can wait

so i turn on VH1 country...hoping somehow that sugarland is on rotation there and not just CMT....not ten minutes later, after dog insanity....the song comes on...right when i'm about to lose it on all the animals in my house....so i just stop, can of cat food in hand, and watch...somehow, cheesy enough as it sounds, it almost makes me come to tears....something about seeing jenn...on tv...after following her for five years from the depths of the soul miner's daughter break-up through jenn nettles band to sugarland ....and after talking to her about agnes - just those conversations where you share the bond of the same experience....and then recognizing how much her music has always echoed the pieces of my life....well anyway...it moved me.

on another note, i'm in on a friday night...writing my final paper for negotiation, and babysitting toaster. toaster is a 1 year old chocolate lab that belongs to my friend andrea that works with me....not the andrea that owns scout/dolce but another andrea. well, it would be fine except 1) toaster wants to chase the cats and 2) dakota HATES toaster. so, as i decide to put toaster in a separate room, i move to get up and then watch shadow pee on the couch....so i sling toaster in the room, close the door, grab shadow and go throw her outside onto the back porch. toaster had been playing REALLY hard with shadow and i think it just set shadow's bladder off...but still...fucking a. how do i get her to realize that she CANNOT pee on the couch.

ok. i'm done. back to the paper.
