the tabloid-tainted actress knows the myth of higher ground...

it was horribly sad to leave honeysuckle at petsmart today. that dog felt that i was her new-found soulmate..but working the swim meet made me feel better - i'm actually really glad now that i finally made the BIG work decision and will remain with andrea and the rest of the people who i've held so dearly for the last two years. i do have to admit, even with the stomach-turning, cheating feeling, stress of the last ten days....it was nice to be so highly wanted by own company and a top tier competitor. that stress is now over....complete with three migraines in six days..but it's over. and of course there is more to take its place but not to the same extent.

i even shopped in the village today on my way back in from marietta - so getting my family xmas together is a few steps closer. and our xmas tree now has lights from top to bottom!

there's a lot of good in the world...which helps to balance out the bad...my first christmas with baka daphne (other than maybe at 2 years old), nev getting a good job offer, how much giving i've seen from people i know in terms of their time and money to help others - jessica's party the other night was the 2nd in ten months where a large group came together and through joint effort did something really special for battered women, and some of this good includes all the people i'm scared to lose now that grad school is ending...dan has taught me so much about myself..and made me so much stronger and self-aware about what i am capable of and what i deserve...both personally and in my work...and barb is entirely another version of me -- but blonde and with four kids (and an SUV, i know) but who, uncannily at times, does/says/thinks the exact same things i do, and who inspires me to reach out and become a relatively significant part of her entire family...and there's my wendy too...and i'm so glad we're going to work on the community consulting team together in the spring.....but how do i ensure that all these people remain the ones that keep me in line, and make me laugh, and push me to do the things that they know i need to do....and follow-up incessantly to make sure i've delivered....

these are all things that make my heart sing this holiday season...and for one of the first times ever, i really feel that these holidays are significant...and that i have so much to be thankful for...and i only wish to be a better person next year and give more to the world and those around me...because i've been set up to succeed by so many people and instances....i have to give back five-fold...
