well it's last day leaving
a bath beckons...epsom salts and soothing heat to relieve the migraine's tendrils that are creeping up my neck and around my face....
but first....i must say....the easy way out is rarely the path to happiness, fulfillment, or even honesty. so stop taking the easy way outs in your lives. no cowering behind excuses, no rationalizing things so that you can feel justified in your love, anger, lust, cowardice, or poor decisions.
there are too many people that i have met or known that not only easy way out their lives on occasion (as most all people do) but who also live in this way as their modus operandi....and over ten years i've watched them fall to the wayside after i've reached the limit of what i can ignore in the face of affiliation or friendship.
but i think we all need to turn a critical eye upon ourselves. the easy way out at work one day may serve to the detriment of your professional growth months down the line. the easy way out in situations where you are at the lower end of a power continuum will never aid you in growing your confidence and strength of self. the easy way out in arguments with friends or lovers results in either self-sacrifice or unfairness. the easy way out in making life-changing decisions may aid you to achieve gratification sooner (or immediately) but on your death bed will you be proud of who you've become?
i want to be proud of those i call my friends. of those with whom i work. of those who i interact with in any way. so become the person that you can be. and then come sit next to me and light up my world.

But I know what you mean. And you've made an excellent point.
Hey, you wanna come decorate cookies on Saturday? It'll be fu--uun!!
maybe you should consider turning a critical eye on YOURSELF and stop criticizing other people. just a thought. you could use it.
the post said "turn a critical eye on ourselves." i am therefore included in that group.
