yes, it is thursday. and yes, it is time for a "week in revue"
last friday started off the weekend with a bang...i left work for "ladies' night" at swim practice (though i didn't get there til just after 8 so i only swam for 50 minutes)...most of us (andrea, idalia, teresa, and rachel) went to la fonda for a late night, wet-haired dinner. yummy cuban sandwich for jel. once i got home just after 11, bob called and wanted to have a drink...so we walked out our door at midnight and moseyed on up to flat iron. well, 20 minutes into our drink, who do i see stumbling by the window but em and sean?! i run out, rope 'em in, and we commence to keep on having our drink (i am using singular b/c i only had one...everyone else was drinking it up).
saturday started off with a hair appointment and then a two-hour stint at the mechanic while i waited for them to figure out what was going on with bob's squeaky car. at least i had grabbed a biscuit from flying biscuit and brought my book so it wasn't overly tedious. after that was all done, i went gift shopping and then off to kennesaw for beth's bridal shower. it was good to be re-united with some of the scotties - it was partly an eco-house reunion with beth, sarah neal, and briana all there. after the festivities there concluded, i raced back downtown for fun part of the evening #2 - stacey and i grabbed a quick dinner at grant central and were off to liz's house for a stimulating game night. saw gooch again for the second time in three weeks after not having seen her for a year or more. liz has a super-fly house and cool dogs who are too cute. kristin brought her friend katie who we randomly figure out is the daughter of my elementary school principal and there are more random connections there that i'm not even going to try to go into and explain.
apples to apples is a fun game. hadn't heard of it before, but definitely a good one. after that we moved on to cranium and liz's roomies joined us....kristin's humm-a-bility (or lack there-of), stacey's blind drawing, and the group charades were all highly-entertaining. i wish i'd kept some of my balderdash definitions from our final game of the night...there were some of quality in those piles.
sunday came and i picked up beth and then met stacey and bob at the aquarium. which was fun but i will never go again on a weekend. it's WAY too crowded. after we watched the whale sharks, were mesmerized by the coral reef, and pet shellfish in the kids' area, bob and i went to lunch with wendy and mom and nate. we got to see firsthand wendy feeding nate babyfood - it is not cute. and those moms who convince themselves otherwise are deluded. however, nate is growing like crazy and even has a tooth already.
after lunch we went to watch the game with andrea and idalia. the game was horrendous but at least we had jengine as our server and cassi & co. dropped by to have a drink with us. after the game, we headed home and had a chill evening.
the week has been not busy socially, though i did have dinner with michael simmons last night-- it's good to see friends from high school...even 7 years later.
this weekend i'm going to meet lyn from pap911 rescue at her house and hopefully i'll begein fostering puppy mill papillons soon. now, however, i have to get back to work...as i left at 4 instead of 8 today....something i ate really screwed me up. i couldn't even get out of bed 4 1/2 hours after i came home. ugh. let's hope bob's homemade egg drop soup makes me feel better.

How's Michael doing? How's the puppy thing coming along? Maybe if grad school works out, I can foster puppies while I'm in Athens?! Did you find your ring?
