bow wow wow..yippy yo...yippy yeah...
this week was pretty filled...work was a whirlwind, i attended my first nba basketball game (hawks vs. pistons - i cheered for the hawks b/c i always cheer for the perennial underdog..and they actually won! how crazy is that!). we also went back to va hi t'mac one night and it was really good to catch up with good friends from there. friday we watched part of the opening ceremonies while at t'mac up in roswell and the ski jumper piece was so freaking cool. did anyone else see that?
yesterday, we went to the imax at fernbank and then went through the current exhibit...yesssss....it was CHOCOLATE! yummy! i stole leo and he came to hang out with the girls for the cold afternoon...they are all so freaking cute together. i can't get over it, though i didn't take any pictures this time. i did go running at 6:30 when it was 30-something degrees out and i'm suprised i'm alive to tell the tale. brrr.
last night we picked up scoop and headed out to east bumblefuck (aka lawrenceville) to fish and heather's shindig. i observed funny games of beer pong, tbm's keg stand, and joined in for several rounds of flip cup - and yes -- we won every round i was in. :) the funniest part came near the end of the night..heather's dog bailey came up stairs from the garage and headed straight to the computer (where i-tunes was jamming music). apparently bailey did not like the current selection and stood up, tapped the keyboard (changing the song in mid-flow) and all of a sudden snoop's bow wow wow was playing. fucking hilarious.
today i swam, had a blast with my gay boys (and bob and i even ran into jonathon at the farmer's mkt later in the afternoon). we ate at radial with wendy and little nathan is GROWING and all about being a child not a baby. apparently he stands now without holding on to anything. and he's still only 9 months old.
tomorrow is the big day. not only are tammy and em and i going to the asc scottie basketball game, but i also begin the detox. i'm not scared....yet. we did buy a CART full of produce today, i prepped 13 smoothies, made a vegetable broth soup, and bought and froze 7 pieces of fish. tonight is a night of "lasts" - last coke, last nutty bar, last yogourt, last bread....two weeks is such a long time away, but i can do it...
i'm a little worried about going back to work tomorrow...i'm sad about something that happened, curran is on vacation for the day, and i fear there will be a gloom in the air that i won't be able to shake. i just have to focus on the fact that i can't change anything about it and so move on as best i can.
btw - someone communicate to jenni (yost) and to amy (of ethan and amy)that trader joe's is looking at the save rite location on monroe in midtown. at least, per in-town magazine.
tonight, dave chappelle is doing a two-hour "in the actor's studio" on bravo at 8. i'm sure we'll watch that and the olympics both. now, to go check on my soup and conspire with my bob on prepping a fabulous "last" dinner....
