it's the small things...
that make me happy and my soul content.
somehow....things like turning on the tv for some background music and the academy of country music awards being on and josh turner coming on and singing the "would you go with me" song....made my night. yes, unabashedly, i love country music - bob would like to disown me for this.
that and the fact that my cat walks up to me, inside, outside, with people around, when alone and 100% focuses all her love on me - she reaches up tall with her paws and is almost soulful with how she stares in your eyes and wants you to pick her up and cradle her on your shoulder....and that bmw 6 series engine purr of hers doesn't hurt at all....
this 2nd session of bootcamp is coming to an end - we've become a sort of family, through the dark, the sunrises, the sweat, the nausea, the constant aching and most of all - the success of surpassing all our individual expectations. last friday even - we had a social at josh's house and then about 14 of us ended up at 80s night at east side lounge until 2 a.m. -- keeping in mind that we had all risen at 5:30 the previous day to go work out...about the only thing we have in common is this camp...and then those random 6 degrees of separation that we're still uncovering 12+ weeks later.... never in my life did i think i would be a proponent of something like this - i hate dryland workouts, i would never think to get up at 5:20 4 mornings a week to go EXERCISE, and i certainly wouldn't spend the money on something for myself...but that's all changed...and i don't know if i will ever not be doing bootcamp again...which means i better adjust my yearly budget!! bootcamp - another little thing that makes my heart happy (not to mention healthy!!).
kenshata coming to visit next week!!! finally - a proper friend to have a front porch swing date with...and i'm sure we'll try the age-old jelena asking kenshata to blow smoke rings, jelena trying in vain to emulate her...ending with huffing on my part.
country fair fri night @ hi fi buys - not only is nevena coming, but so are brandon and jenny, and becky and jon and now dennis (cuddle pit) is coming as well....yes, i am deriving joy from the idea of riding in pick-em-up trucks down to hi fi buys, tail-gating with budweiser and then going to watch a country all-star line-up (all the other rednecks are an unpleasant consequence...but i'll deal with them).
football season is closer to beginning again than the end of it is far away - let's just hope and hope and hope that no injuries show up during camp for the browns...and that joe thomas delivers and that braylon shows up 100% this year and that the offensive line can actually shelter charlie so he doesn't continue throwing interceptions.
that i have the time to read books - i'm a voracious reader by desire and don't always get to do so - but these days, i've found bob and i spending great time reading - on the porch, at java monkey, on the couch....such a great thing it is to read.
trader joe's - now this is not a small happy..this is a HUGE happy....i'm ecstatic that they are here in-town now...and yes, it is worth driving to mid-town to buy groceries when trader joe's is the option.
now that i am feeling happiness, i'm going to read and watch for sugarland on tv.
