3/4 week in review...

we'll give credit to cassi's recent blogging and jerome's kicks n' giggles blog for our k'ball team for the fact that i'm actually posting something.

it's been a week.

kicked off by -
the ING half marathon. beat my berry half time by 4+ min and ran 2:00 flat. was quite happy with that.

then we go to tuesday where at my much-adored bootcamp (see good day atlanta clips here), i became a version of beth

somehow and fucked up my back quite significant. but we're going to ignore that part of the week until there's a more official prognosis next week.

moving on to an amazing sugarland concert at the fox last night. nev and i, 24 rows back, just elated the entire show. perfect. if only i'd brought my camera.

opening for her was a band nevena's liked for a while - but one that was new to me. and now, i'm a fan. definite fan. the zac brown band - oh, me likey lots.

Biography: When you first see Zac Brown in person you immediately get an infallible feeling that you've just encountered somebody very special. Only in his mid-20's, Zac possesses an uncanny aura -- in both his personality and in his music -- that is beyond his young years. It is this aura that easily draws people into Zac's World; a world of jam-packed gigs where post-collegiate fans rub elbows with blue-collar bikers; a world of "chicken-fried" mayhem where fans toast the sky (domestic beer in hand!) to certain parts of songs. Zac's love for the great outdoors, cold beers, and people in general, comes through in his songs, which are one part personal and sentimental, and another part raucous and humorous. If Jimmy Buffet had a younger brother playing music in the Georgia wild, he might be Zac Brown. Zac's style is acoustic-based, but don't get the wrong idea, your jaw will drop as you bear witness to Zac's frantic finger-pickin', hand-thumpin' nylon-stringed guitar solos. A true "Redneck Renaissance Man", Zac owns his own restaurant, Zac's Place, that serves up southern gourmet culled from his personal recipes... Zac breeds his "own" classification of dog, the Weimerhound (A Weimereymer and Bloodhound mix)....Zac collects bone knives and hand axes and is an excellent marksman....Zac grows figs and bottles his own preserves on his farm...Zac is a comedy writer and occasionally performs his original comedy songs on unsuspecting audiences...Zac knows both Kung Fu and Ju-Jitsu. So, if heaven is having "your toes in the water and ass in the sand" or "a cold beer on a Friday night" and wearing "jeans that fit just right", you'll swear Zac Brown is your guardian angel.
